5 tips for getting a job in esports financial modeling esports

by Krabihometownbt1

The path that I took to get a job in esports over 10 years ago is not unique. In fact, many of my peers, including some of the most successful esports entrepreneurs, content creators, team owners, shoutcasters, and more have followed very similar paths taking esports from a hobby to a full time career. That’s why I wanted to share my advice as a 10-year esports insider as to how to get a job working in esports.

This was a really nice video and it did make me think that there are ways to get into esports. I found this video while researching for a job in a gaming industry, I was a call center agent before and got paid well enough but made me feel somewhat "lacking". I was lucky enough to get a job at a gaming company but ultimately failed my "training" so to speak and thinking back that was the most fulfilling job I got. So I quit my job ask my folks if i can follow my passion but still haven't got any luck but, just so you know your video gave me a lot of insight thanks

Hey man, thanks for uploading this video, I found it to be pretty interesting and informative. I really want to find a way to get into the esports scene, however my state does not have a really strong following (South Dakota). To my knowledge we don't have any companies interested in hosting events or organizations that participate in professional competitions, but we have a few colleges with clubs, including the one I'm attending right now, but it's off to a really slow start. Plus I'm in my final semester as well, so I won't be able be a member of the club come next year. Should I still try to help get the club going in my spare time outside of school, or should I try to find something that's relatively close and make connections that way?
P.S. Yes, please make more videos on this topic, your knowledge of the industry is something that I could see being very helpful for many other viewers like me in the future. Best of luck to you!

I can't stress enough about volunteering. I used to do it a while ago, but if you're into simple content creation or other random odd jobs such as graphics design / video editing, one org I used to work for was Dignitas. They do comp you quite often, free (sometimes even custom) gear, and paid jobs with third party sponsors sometimes. In terms of networking, working for organisations is probably the best way I've seen, but obviously working for tournament organisers etc is still great. Honestly a really good video!
