Technology and the Future of Theatre | Sarah Ellis | TEDxLondonBusinessSchool technology and you

Art and technology are often seen as distinct disciplines. But combining them results in magic. Sarah Ellis, the Director of Digital Development at the Royal Shakespeare Company, teaches us how technology is reimagining the experience of theatre, taking it beyond the stage and into our living rooms. As an award-winning producer, Sarah Ellis currently works as Director of Digital Development for the Royal Shakespeare Company to explore new artistic initiatives and partnerships.
The latest partnership for the RSC is the Audience of the Future Live Performance Demonstrator funded by Innovate UK – a consortium consisting of arts organisations, research partners and technology companies to explore the future of performances and real-time immersive experiences. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at .

  1. ❤️✍️📖🎥💙💜🎬Some people say Shakespeare would have wanted to be a filmmaker.

We should use technology more to bring theatre to the audience.❤️🌹🍬💜🧁💜🍬❤️🧡

  2. It's a really interesting technology! Never thought of how AR/VR(?) can be applied into performances and theatre. I'm so looking forward to be able to see performances maybe one day at home. But I have a side question: how will this kind of technology adaptation affect the employees' income? For example, the actors, the music producers, the poets… It sounds like a one-time group effort that can be repeatedly used and sold in the future for countless time and to people all over the world. How will the whole field of theater performing be influenced?

  4. Take it seriously: The low spending percentage compared to what you earn is your wealth indicator.

Try to reduce this percentage by 1% every month, first by spending less, secondly by earning more 😉

hope you subscribe to my channel for more tips….

  5. Yeah sure do one thing make AR food and start eating it😑, no matter how much you romanticize it technology can never take place of the real experience. All this is only for when we don't have any option, like this pandemic.

  6. yeah ok but humans are not smart enough now days to survive without their cell phones gps computer or any technology .so good luck to you all ,so glad i will be dead have fun on this screwed up rock while your alive because it goes really ffast.

  7. Some of the commenters could easily be actors with how dramatic they are being. Digital entertainers already exist, you're on YouTube after all. It's not like integrating digital medium to an art form is going to kill the original medium all together. Digital painting exists and yet it hasn't dominated paint on canvas. Both are just as valued and require a lot of the same skills and engagement.

  8. Totally disturb by what I just saw on this Ted talk. This might be your new reality. Hopefully not everyone else’s. I am for the pro human way of life, with real social interactions it’s one thing to use these technologies in making movies, but a whole other animal In live theatre. I hope theatre actors are outraged by the thought!!!!

  9. Sickness to agree to be separated agreeing and accepting the stripping of a natural way of being. We are social beings. We are being ripped apart. Nothing is cool or ok or has my agreement. Ripping people apart is not advancement it is a way to destroy human identity.

  10. Here's something everyone needs to consider from now on when you receive blood transfusions. Will you be getting blood transfused from the person who was vaccinated. These new mRNA vaccines that actually change your DNA will the blood you will be getting from a transfusion be from a person who was vaccinated and then that blood mix with your blood and then start to change your DNA. I'm really considering storing my own blood in case I need a transfusion.

  11. "Low tech" are future technologies. Coz Everyone will have potential to use it every days … notnonly rich countries people … no matter what dem say or do
