The Future of Human Evolution | What Darwin Didn't Know technology evolution

Thanks to currently-existing technology and medicine, future humans could have larger heads and extensive robotic implants. In other words, evolution could be handed over from nature to science. Consult some old sci-fi novels and grab your art supplies; that classic “monkey-to-human evolutionary chart” may be due for a new friend walking in front of us.

I'm sorry, but, five minutes into this video and still nothing about the future. I'm out.

Too bad non of us will see humans evolving, because we will die.

Evolve for what ? to just keep on evolving and never reaching any conclusions! ?

Being an optimist (!) I've been thinking recently about the long term survival of 'intelligent life' on earth (as opposed to our specific species long term survival prospects, which frankly do not presently seem very great). Although catastrophic extinction events seem inevitable, it is possible, even likely, regardless of the scale of catastrophic events, (short of a massive calamity greater than anything that seems reasonably likely), there will still exist multicellular creatures whose physiology contains neural cells.

Life has so far persisted through some challenging circumstances. I think the high hurdles in the path to intelligent life, the transition to multi-cellular organisms and the evolution of specialized tissues as required to support internal organs and nervous systems, have already been lept over. Hence it may be useful to think about the long term capacity of the earth to support living organisms, which appears to be around 3 billion years, the time before the sun enters it's red giant phase and boils away all the earth's H2O and atmospheric gases. This is roughly the same period of time that has been required for homo sapiens to evolve from the first multi-cellular organisms.

Even after home-sapiens goes extinct, so long as some organisms exist already possessing brain-like structures, the re-emergence of intelligent life seems almost inevitable, and it could take much less time for homo-sapiens level intelligence, or more advanced intelligence, to re-emerge — in species quite remotely related to homo. Such a large timescale may allow re-evolution of numerous intelligent species… Really, as long as few cockroaches survive, it seems likely that home-sapiens(+) intelligence will re-emerge.

You cant escape environmental pressures. So there is no way to stop evolution.

Very cool talk.

More radiation on e.g. Mars leading to evolution of protection from radiation:
It's a negative feedback loop.
The radiation causes the protection from radiation.
Not efficiently but eventually.

No, mostly diseases evolve towards being less virulent, not more.
The gentler strains spread more readily, as people are less unwell, so move around more.

The evolution from non human to human happened rapidly- we are rapidly being devolved from human to non human as we speak

The use of screens is shrinking our brains. It really is actually doing that.

His lecture is broken up into these non-visual pacing segments, perhaps because he couldn’t go 30 seconds without making a verbal mistake. Why not make it a podcast?

We wont evolve too much physically anymore. Maybe some small stuff but i think the bulk of it will be mental and spiritual evolution where we begin to use more of our brain and senses

Really good video. Just like how ants have evolved over 15,000 species all over the planet in 100 million years, I think humans could have over 15,000 species all over the universe in 100 million years if all goes well.

Conventional Human Evolution is fundamentally way too many flawed…
We were genetically engineered few thousand years ago…
There are way too many coherent scientific explanations are there which could easily prove that "We were genetically engineered"…

All of this knowledge by the elites more so than the average person working a job & a father of 3 can be used as a weapon against a population for control by people than have infinite amounts of money & resources in order to direct the society into directions they want society to go. It's not any more far fetched than any other plan any one of us have hatched to get something we want no matter the complexity.
